Fuji Lake Hotel
We are incredibly grateful for our stay at this hotel. From the moment we arrived, the staff warmly welcomed us, taking our luggage straight to our room, which made for a stress-free start to our vacation. The room was surprisingly spacious and beautifully designed, just like something out of a movie. It featured a deck with stunning views of Mount Fuji, perfect for taking incredible photos. On the other side of the building, we were treated to serene views of Lake Kawaguchiko—truly the best of both worlds! I would also like to give special mention to the amazing female staff member, B, who went above and beyond to make our stay extra special. She gave us a small tour of the hotel and personally escorted us to our room, providing us with yukatas and toiletries along the way. Her attentiveness and warm hospitality truly stood out and made us feel so welcome. The food buffet was amazing, offering a wide variety of options, with a strong focus on delicious Japanese cuisine, which we absolutely loved. We enjoyed both the dinner and breakfast buffets, and each meal was a treat. The hotel's free shuttle bus to Kawaguchiko Station was a huge plus, running every 15 minutes. It made it easy for us to catch our bus on time. Additionally, there’s a well-stocked souvenir shop inside the hotel with very reasonable prices—much more affordable than the shops outside. We highly recommend buying your souvenirs here! All in all, it was an unforgettable experience, and we would love to return someday!

I liked everything. The hotel oozed old time charm. Think Wes Anderson’s Grand Budapest Hotel. The hotel is immaculate with care being taken to maintain the facilities. While things may initially appear a bit dated, actually everything is perfectly juxtaposed with original charm and modern touches. We stayed in superior room with western bed and tatami area and lake view. Spectacular views of the lake and beautiful grounds. The room was very spacious with all the essentials provided. We had 2 twin beds and a large window length bench/desk. The bathroom was snug with a small but deep bathtub and great shower. Separate toilet. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. There is a shuttle bus that runs from the station regularly and will even take you on request if needed. The hotel is very family friendly with plenty of thoughtful touches from kids seats to kids books in the lounge. The breakfast was on the top floor with superb views for guests and a wide range of Japanese and western options to get you started. A French chef also creates a masterpiece dining option for guests, at around $100AUD pp. for dinner. Each day there are afternoon refreshments offered in the lounge area to have a snack and watch the beautiful lake. The viewing tower had spectacular views of Mt Fuji and the lake and we were lucky enough to have a clear day for sightseeing at the end of May. Unreal is an understatement!

Beautiful place at the lake. Excellent hotel and a great location for walks around the lake. 5 minutes to the pier with excursions boats. 10 minutes to the funicular to the observation deck with Mt.Fuji view. A lot of cafes and restaurants around. There is a shuttle to the station in the city center every 30 min. If you don’t want to wait, you can take a taxi from the station (7 min, 600 yens). Spacious clean rooms. The tatami area is convenient for doing gymnastics. A lot of staff everywhere. Everyone is very friendly and ready to help and show. Harder to explain - not everyone has good English. There is a mosquito mesh at windows, so you can get fresh in the room and switch off noisy air conditioner. An excellent private onsen with a view of Mt.Fuji, when it is not hiding in clouds. The restaurant on the 7th floor is very good. The cuisine is both Japanese and European with a Japanese touch, may be because of Le Chef Francais? Breakfasts are plentiful. Dinners are great! Very tasty food and rich selection of alcohol. And after dinner, you can walk in the park on the embankment in front of the hotel, breathe fresh air and/or smoke. Bottles of water and tea bags can be taken in the lobby for free.

The staff were ready to take care of us from the moment we showed up. They waited on us hand and foot and were very respectful even though my partner and I are in our early 20’s. The hotel was magnificent and luxurious, and the rooms were great considering how cheap it was - we have traveled all over the United States and Hawai’i and this hotel offers much more value for your money. The gracious staff, location and scenery, rooms, private onsen, in house breakfast/dinners, and all the additional public amenities make us want to choose Fuji Lake Hotel as our go-to when we come back to the area. I loved talking with the staff as they were very personable, and even though I am American they didn’t shy away from my bad small talk. They’re all very nice people! We visited during the winter but this hotel would be great during the summer as well because of a public pool and hot tub by the lake, which also has fun boat rides to go on offered closeby on the beach.

Robert

The room was comfortable with two single beds and a futon bed. The staff were courteous and attentive. The hotel is conveniently located and less than 10 minutes walk from Kawaguchiko station. The hotel has a shuttle bus to the train station and it arrives at the 15th and 45th minute of each hour from 9:15AM to 3:45PM. As most shops (and restaurants) tend to close by 5PM in the area, the convenience of having a LAWSON'S store less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel is a plus. The restaurant located on the 7th floor offers a nice spread for breakfast and the restaurant windows offer an unobstructed view of Mount Fuji on one side and Lake Kawaguchiko on the other. There is also an observation deck accessible from the 7th floor which to enjoy an unobstructed view of Mount Fuji and Lake Kawaguchiko.
